Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We're Looking For:

If you are looking for a collaborative work environment where you'll have the opportunity to be part of a team on the forefront of one of the most advanced satellite constellations in the world, then you will be excited about the Technical Writer I position on the Infrastructure Build team! In this role you'll work closely with IT Engineering Operations to create, edit, and structure documentation for the full life cycle of various Enterprise and Commercial projects. This position will develop policy, procedure, and 'as-built' documentation for multiple projects and systems. This role will also work with various project teams to ensure accurate and on-time internal deliverables.

What You'll Do:

    Conduct independent research and facilitate interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and company leaders to gather information and develop documentation that is clear, concise, and compliant
  • Analyze, disect, and document complex processes into straightforward and easy-to-understand directions
  • Ensure all documents and procedures contain the appropriate level of detail and instruction commensurate with the activity
  • Work collaboratively with the Configuration Management team to ensure standard document formatting is consistent throughout the organization
  • Develop and comply with timely document review schedules
  • Provide Configuration Management and IT teams with feedback and suggestions regarding document format, type, and storage

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, communication, business administration, technical writing or related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions.
  • Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work.
  • Be active in seeking ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or other issues to groups within the organization
  • Can easily build meaningful relationships with team members in and outside of the department

We'll also need you to:

  • Be able to travel up to 10%
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be able to work a hybrid schedule that includes at least 2 days per week in-office.

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
