Responsibilities Under the direction of the Security Supervisor the Security Officers will maintain a safe and secure environment for Oklahoma Heart Hospital staff, patients and visitors. Security Officers will provide protection and security of Oklahoma Heart Hospital assets, and will stress safety and security awareness. Security Oklahoma Heart Hospital assets, while promoting Oklahoma Heart Hospital values: Responsible for monitoring staff and patrolling the Oklahoma Heart Hospital campus and insuring prompt response to all staff members under approved job description. When necessary, works directly with other staff members in performing safety responsibilities, with a goal of identifying efficiency improvement solutions and problem causes. Displays a caring and compassionate attitude toward everyone and responds to and assists with the needs of others. Enforces Oklahoma Heart Hospital policies and procedures and departmental policies and procedures equally and fairly among all staff personnel. Maintains and monitors records and reports: Must maintain a daily activity log. Prioritize personal work assignments so that all activities are completed within established time frames. Prepare reports and documents in established time frames and formats. Work closely with the hospital staff to ensure their needs are being met as they arise, but making sure that the assistance provided is within security's scope of responsibilities. Maintain a record of combination locks, covered parking area cards and employee parking decals according to policy and procedures. Maintain the lost and found items and patient valuables storage according to policy and procedure. Perform notary public duties according to Oklahoma State Law. Transportation and escort duties: Escort employees, visitors, patients and various department personnel with or without cash and/or valuables, ensuring timely delivery to proper destination. Transport Oklahoma Heart Hospital staff and/or visitors as required, adhering to all safety precautions and established procedures. Service, Training, and Safety Issues: Monitor the effectiveness of safety measures for all Oklahoma Heart Hospital grounds and participate in professional development activities. Periodically conduct hospital-wide fire drills, one per shift, per quarter, according to policy and procedure and NFPA standards for healthcare facilities. Participate in the performance of inspections and other related activity, such as; monthly fire extinguisher inspections and safety surveys. Attend all mandatory department meetings and in-services and participate in one professional development school or seminar per year. Respond to all fire alarms and other emergency codes and alarms according to policy and procedure. Officer will be an active member of the Fire Response Team and other related groups as needed. Monitors all authorized and unauthorized entries: Ensure that all doors are locked and unlocked during normal and off duty hours. Observe all broken locks and force of entries while performing patrols, utilizing proper security forms, 100% documentation is required Utilize proper security forms when unlocking doors for authorized personnel when requested, 100% documentation is required. General Assistance and Maintenance Duties: Provide security services (jump starts, air or change tires, etc.), when requested by owner. Officer must utilize the proper security forms and obtains proper owner authorization with 100% documentation. Prepare work orders on an as needed basis and other duties as assigned by proper authorities. Provide orientation to forensic staff who accompanies prisoners/inmates to Oklahoma Heart Hospital per instructions attached to Abbreviated Safety Learning Activity Packet. Qualifications Education: High school diploma Licensure/Certification: C.L.E.E.T. (Armed) certification required Experience: Previous law enforcement and/or hospital security experience preferred Working Knowledge: Officer must have knowledge of criminal and civil laws, and investigative, technical, personnel management and interview skills.
