Tim's Cascade Snacks, a subsidiary of Utz Quality Foods Utz Quality Foods is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Lead to join our team of manufacturing professionals at our facility located in Algona, WA. The Production Lead is responsible for managing the shift production and coordinating with quality assurance and maintenance staff to ensure even flow of production while adhering to the established schedule. This position will be responsible for training temporary workers. A successful candidate would have the opportunity to move into other management positions within the company. Key Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned.
- Effectively manages production employees on shift.
- Provides knowledge, experience, motivation and support to team members.
- Encourages team effort and supportive attitudes between workers.
- Ensures that team members adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and are supplied with protective gear including safety glasses, gloves and proper clothing.
- Assists in the training of temporary employees.
- Fills in for all production positions as necessary and supervisor during absences.
- Assists in the startup of processing equipment.
- Notifies the Supervisor of any problems with production equipment or other production-related problems.
- Assists in packaging with duties such as recording and tracking lot numbers and production tickets, sorting cartons, monitoring packaging machines or other duties as assigned.
- Designated to shut down processing in the event of fire or natural disaster.
- Leads the 6S lean initiative by example and ensures that expectations are met.
- Supports continuous improvement efforts to improve quality of service and increase safety and efficiency of operations.
- Ensure receiving procedures and documentation are followed.
Job Requirements
- Three years related experience in a leadership role in a food processing facility.
- Solid decision-making skills with ability to recognize boundaries and seek assistance when needed.
- High level of integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proven track record of successfully leading a team.
- Lifting requirements will include lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of lab procedures to supervise quality checks.
- High energy level with a demonstrated passion toward driving continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Candidate must be self-motivated with strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a diverse group of people, departments and all levels of management.
- Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision or guidance.
Starting Pay Rate: $27.52-$27.55/Hr. with 2nd shift differential of $0.50 Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
