Job Description:

The Quality Supervisor communicates with the Corporate Quality Department to develop and implement policies and procedures. The supervisor coordinates with divisional departments regarding quality issues and procedures, while also acting as a training resource to other departments for quality related issues, in addition to performing quality audits. This role presents to customers and vendors as necessary, and will respond to and track corrective action responses. The supervisor will investigate and resolve root causes of customer claims, while communicating with steel mills on material quality issues, participating in selection of suppliers, and completing First Article/PPAP submissions. This role develops and implements standard operating procedures, work instructions, and maintains system documents. The supervisor also conducts capability studies, perform gage studies, and manage inspection equipment of calibration activities.

Qualifications:



  • Degree in Quality Systems, Manufacturing, or Engineering from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in supervisory role
  • Experience in the metal fabrication or related industry (Burning, press brakes, Machining, Welding)
  • ISO implementation experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications, notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of computerized document control
  • Knowledge of inventory management and materials production
  • Skilled in lean manufacturing principles and practices
  • Skilled in inventory management
  • Skilled in quality management systems
  • Ability to problem solve and organize
  • Skilled in customer service and communication
  • Large OEM experience with Quality Systems
  • Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish
  • Manufacturing Operations Quality Audit experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to think strategically and see the big picture


Duties:



  • Creation and Management of PFMEA's
  • Creation and Management of Standard Work Instructions and APQP planning activities for projects
  • Management of the Quality team, including technicians
  • Reporting of Quality metrics for the facility (PPM, PPAP completion Time, RCCM completion time, etc.)
  • Control Plan creation and management
