Supervisor - Janitorial (SCA)

Primary Duties

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Performs supervisory tasks at assigned base to include, but not limited to; establishing work standards, work schedules, attendance of employees, quality assurance checks, and provides training and arranges transportation of employees to work sites.
  • Coordinates with Rehab to provide supports for employees who are lacking in skills or need additional training.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations to include any disciplinary action/corrections.
  • Responsible for maintaining and executing the goals and objectives of the HAFB contract requirements.
  • Manage functions in relation to employees time and attendance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Handles worker compensation according to internal procedures, including documentation of the incident, arranging transportation of the employee to medical facility for treatment.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Report any customer concerns to Project Manager.
  • Attend weekly meetings as assigned.
  • Participates in the ordering of custodial toiletries, chemicals and equipment.
  • Conducts frequent training on job duties, proper chemical handling, equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Maintains detailed records of work performed and completed.
  • Provides input to leadership in constructing work routes of daily tasks for employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)

  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) required.
  • Two years of previous experience working as a PARC custodian is required.
  • Prior experience working with adults with disabilities preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Pass and maintain HAFB background security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be familiar with assigned site building locations.
  • Ability to problem solve and determine priorities of work.
  • Strong commitment to high level of service and quality standards.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to train, coach, motivate, develop and lead a team.
  • A self directed individual with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess the ability to become familiar with corporate-specific programs and software.

Supervision Received

The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand and sit; bend; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to crouch and kneel. The employee will regularly lift or move products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working inside buildings and occasionally exposed to various types of weather if walking between work sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate unless working on the flight line which is moderate to loud.
