Who We Are Looking For

The Security Operations Specialist is responsible for general and emergency assistance to a worldwide client base utilizing operations protocols and other client focused procedures. In this role, you will hone your skills to a better understanding of global security, while guiding clients through a multifaceted and challenging landscape.

You will serve as a team member in a Crisis24 Global Operations Centres (GOC) which serves as our heart for the delivery of operational tasks in support of our global clients. The position is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in security and risk management who wants to build valuable skills and experience in an operational setting.

Central to this role is the ability to work clearly and calmly under pressure. It is essential to work effectively in a global team to deliver solutions in real time in combination with being able to run routine daily tasks with focus and accuracy.

This position is based in Annapolis, MD.

What You Will Work On




  • Support the research and assessment of a threat environment for proposed task/travel, using a range of privileged and open-source platforms/research networks.
  • Support the research and delivery of pre-travel briefings and presentations to a range of travellers (including deploying expats, academia, NGOs, corporate travellers, C-suite, etc.).
  • Monitor requests and supply the content to global travel security requests from deployed personnel, in-country travellers, clients, and on-the-ground security teams.
  • Oversee security situations in locations where clients are located and conduct regular checks to confirm the well-being of personnel while utilizing open-source intelligence.
  • Develop and support security response contingency planning.
  • Utilize tracking platforms to monitor events and action at risk notifications.
  • Respond to Special Risk (Kidnap, Ransom & Extortion) calls, gathering the key information and quickly escalating internally to the specialist department.
  • Support the coordination and communication of security, evacuation, and emergency tasks.
  • Maintain and develop the compilation of post operational reports for internal (lessons identified & learnt) and external (marketing & case study) purposes.
  • Follow, train, and adhere to Crisis24 security, response & client standard operating procedures.
  • Retain and understand a familiarisation of Crisis24 services.
  • Provide day to day support and guidance to new front-line staff and Security Specialists, ensuring consistency, competence & efficiency in security related response handling and operational tasks.
  • Strive to deliver the highest standards of service to customers.
  • Support the training, coaching, and mentoring of new starters.



What You Will Bring




  • Bachelor's degree in international studies/development/related field; or 4 year's direct experience in emergency/crisis response, military or response centres that require communication skills during high operational tempo is desired.
  • International studies, Emergency Management, call center and/or expatriate experience desired.
  • Experience in psychological first aid, is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work in the country identified with the position without any restrictions and report to the office on a hybrid schedule.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - convey complex details of situational information to duty personnel and client POC's in an accurate and concise manner.
  • Native / Fluent English and/or French/German language, reading and written ability a plus.
  • Additional language skills (verbal and written) an advantage.
  • Strong team player with ability to carry additional responsibilities calmly and professionally.
  • Must be an inspirational and motivational instructor.
  • Highly competent in leading teams and briefing senior management and/or executive-level staff.
  • A robust solutions-oriented senior manager, with a proactive approach to complex challenges.
  • A well-developed sense of judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and practical application skills are essential.
  • Exemplary management, organisational & administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proven ability to research, digest, and evaluate various sources and associated information topics.
  • Highly competent in leading and overseeing operational teams, mission planning, execution, and after-action review cycle.
  • Exemplary computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and an aptitude to learn new, applications and systems.
