The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeing a Juvenile Justice Involved Mental Health Therapist to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. TGC is a Community Mental Health Center serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. Juvenile Justice Involved Mental Health Therapist Primary Duties:





    1. Effectively coordinate with and receive youth referrals from juvenile court services, juvenile court judges, and local school staff.
    2. Provide evidence-based substance abuse and clinical services (individual, family, and group) with teen referrals to the program.
    3. Report client outcomes and records of participation to referring court entities.
    4. Make recommendations and internal referrals for other behavioral health services available within TGC.
    5. Meet routinely with juvenile court officers, judges and school personnel to assess the effectiveness of the program.
    6. Make recommendations to supervisor for adjustments to the program content and/or volume of services.



    1. Provide intake assessments and initial treatment planning for justice involved youth
    2. Provide psychotherapy (individual, family and group) and on-going treatment planning





Juvenile Justice Involved Mental Health Therapist Qualifications/Experience:

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Professional Counseling, and licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a LMSW, LMLP, LMFT, LPC, LSCSW, LPC, LCPC OR LCMFT by the first day of employment.

Preferred: LAC, LCAC or LMAC licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board

EXPERIENCE:

Required: two semester's master-level practicum experience in a clinical setting providing assessment and therapy services

Preferred: post master's clinical experience, and experience with the Kansas system of community-based mental health care and associated evidence-based practices.
