Job Overview:

As the Senior Technical Architect - Lead Engineer (Web & AI/ML) at Fortrea, you will work in cross-functional product teams to design and build web-based applications that directly impact drug development teams, clinical trial investigators and, ultimately, patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, empathy for the end-user needs and a strong track record of implementing cutting-edge Web and AI/ML based solutions.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect Microservices and JavaScript based modern frontends.

  • Architect and implement APIs to facilitate seamless integration of AI/ML capabilities into existing systems.

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and internal and external business stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable AI/ML solutions that drive tangible value.

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering their professional growth and proficiency in Web and AI/ML engineering.

  • Stay abreast of emerging Web and AI technologies, methodologies, and best practices to inform continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work closely with the product management and business teams to understand the needs of our customers and quickly iterate to improve the products.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent and relevant experience may also be considered.

  • Expert in .NET or Java, and front end technologies like AngularJS, Angular and other JavaScript frameworks

  • Proficiency in Python programming and extensive experience with relevant libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.

  • Proficiency with databases and SQL/NoSQL/GraphQL or MongoDB

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering impactful AI/ML applications.

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • 10+ years of professional .NET or Java full-stack software development experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on AI/ML product development.

  • Experience with agile software development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)

  • Experience in communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.

  • Experience building cloud-based solutions in AWS or Azure

Preferred Qualifications Include:

Master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.

Experience in a Clinical Research Organization or healthcare-related industry.

Knowledge and understanding of advanced computing platforms common in healthcare industry.
