Textile Product Designer

Design seating and positioning product covers and other
textile products to meet the needs of end users as well as both internal and
external customers. Generate product concepts and prototypes, create sewing patterns,
and coordinate the creation of drawings with design engineers. Provide support to
Group Sourcing and Production Units in design transfer of the textile designs,
workmanship standards and maintenance of legacy textile products.

SUPPORTS NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT BY:
Working with the product management/marketing and design
teams to create initial product concepts, refine those concepts and develop
prototypes for formative evaluation. Advance the concept design and include
aspects of aesthetics, product assembly and use. Coordinate materials selection
with multiple departments including R&D, Scientific and Medical Affairs,
and Commercial Product Management.

SUPPORTS EXISTING TEXTILE PRODUCTS BY:
Working with product development, sourcing and production
personnel to address any challenges and opportunities for improvement as they
arise, whether it be related to design, materials, or quality.

Maintains accurate documentation by:
Following all document control procedures as specified by quality
or regulatory requirements; collecting, recording, and maintaining laboratory
data; ensuring data is clearly identified, easy to retrieve, and organized for
ease of analysis.

Analyzes and reports PRODUCT TESTING findings BY:
Analyzing feedback provided on textile designs to generate
insights and make decisions; reporting results in a meaningful way including
data, graphs, images and summaries as appropriate; communicating results as
requested by Product Development and other groups via email and narratives,
reports, and in-person presentation in product/project meetings.

Requirements:
High School diploma or GED required.
5 + years sewing experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.

Optitex Experience (or equivalent) a plus
