Responsibilities The Scrub Technician assists and scrubs on all surgical procedures related to the Electrophysiology (EP) department, adhering to the highest standards of quality and patient safety. The position requires flexibility to work in other areas of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital as needed. The Scrub Technician demonstrates compliance with federal and state regulations, actively maintains and checks clinical and electronic equipment, and collaborates with leadership and team members to enhance operations and care. This role emphasizes teamwork, patient-focused care, and the values of the hospital in daily activities. Key Responsibilities: Surgical Support: Serve as a Scrub Technician during EP procedures, working closely with physicians and direct care staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Adhere to established procedural protocols and maintain universal precautions during all procedures. Actively participate in the preparation and maintenance of a sterile field and surgical instruments. Assist with routine checks and maintenance of clinical and electronic equipment used in the EP department within the scope of practice. Patient Care: Provide patient-focused care in collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure the dignity of all patients. Apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for various patient populations. Participate in the continuum of patient-focused care, assisting patients as needed before, during, and after procedures. Ensure the provision of a safe and comforting environment for all patients. Team Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with leadership and team members to share ideas and resources that improve departmental function and patient care. Assist in cross-training staff members as assigned by leadership. Participate in projects aligned with the hospital's mission and values. Education and Compliance: Participate in educational opportunities, including unit-specific training and continuing education on EP-related topics. Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to applicable federal and state regulations. Engage in performance improvement activities, such as patient satisfaction and physician satisfaction surveys. Stay current on procedural advancements and maintain professional competency within the EP field. Qualifications Qualifications: Proven experience as a Scrub Technician, preferably in an EP or cardiovascular environment. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or equivalent education/training. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on patient safety and quality care. Education: Graduate of accredited Scrub technician program strongly preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current BLS required. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of continuous CV Surgery experience preferred.
