Job Objective:

  • Conduct policy research and writing on issues of relevance to PTC's business and the patient communities we serve.
  • Gain an understanding of PTC's history, business, and structure to effectively communicate on key policy issues that affect patients' ability to access therapies for rare disease.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the Federal and state-level policy and regulatory landscape for issues and opportunities with direct relevance to the Company, including the assessment of legislative and regulatory proposals.
  • Complete relevant policy analysis and develop policy positions and responses to such proposals (e.g., public comments) with support from the Director of Public Policy.
  • Conduct policy research and writing to support internal teams' understanding of key developments that will affect the business (regulatory or legislative).
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure PTC's public policy strategy supports and advances PTC's strategic goals.

Policy focus includes, but is not limited to Federal legislative and regulatory issues impacting coverage, access, and reimbursement for rare disease drugs such as:

  • Accelerated Approval and other FDA regulatory pathways relevant to PTC's pipeline therapies;
  • Medicaid and Medicare policy;
  • Drug pricing and transparency; and
  • Health care delivery and insurance coverage issues.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Masters-level degree or pursuance thereof desirable
  • Field of study: Public Health, Health Policy, Bioethics.
  • GPA: Minimum 3.0
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of excel, including writing Macro's and data manipulation
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • This is a one (1) year Talent Pipeline Program and the candidate/applicant must be able to complete the entire one-year program
  • Fellow must be a recent college graduate.
  • Candidate must be able to go in person 2-3 days a week at our Washington DC location.
