Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.

In this role, the successful candidate The research data associate is responsible for providing direct data and/or clinical research support of clinical trials studies and general research under direct supervision Works with clinical research center CTSI Beyond Bridges and other medical center staff including directors managers clinical information systems research nursing and regulatory services and staff in other NYU Langone Health departments as needed May also interface with patients and their families community partners and high school undergraduate and medical students and other clinical research center trainees This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills an understanding of medical research processes and a genuine commitment to patient care and the communities we serve The role is based at the NYULH Brooklyn Clinical Research Center with a multi disciplinary research team that is dedicated to conducting clinical research in the community

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes established quantitative and qualitative methodologies to collect patient partner staff and/or trainee information for both research and evaluation project s ; gathers and compiles data statistics and other materials as needed Inputs clinical and nonclinical data into the database and/or case report forms Extracts data for publications or provides data collection from outside physicians offices May perform library searches and retrieve reference materials from various sources and request articles from medical journals
  • Ensures protocol compliance Follows standard steps regarding eligibility criteria follow up process and documentation
  • Compiles data and assists in consolidating and analyzing data for presentation to sponsoring and regulatory agencies Reviews data with supervisor and then provides reports to all parties eg data and safety monitoring committee the principal investigator sponsoring agency etc on the progress of the study
  • Recruits and screens potential patients/subjects for eligibility to the study
  • Interacts with patient/subject and families in a courteous and professional manner Collaborates with various personnel that may be involved with specific aspects in the study
  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures of the host institution where the study is being conducted including the regulatory requirements such as IRB and other approvals if necessary
  • Initiates and continues regular contact with patients; encourages visit reminders and compliance to research; ensures contact with patients and their families is courteous effective professional and cooperative
  • Gathers properly packages stores and transfers slides samples and other important materials Coordinates the shipment and transfer of varied types of materials among the various departments and labs
  • May complete assessments on study subjects/patients per protocol with proper training ; continue to follow through with items and patients as part of research study nbsp;

  • Participate in scientific publications

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Required EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: i Associates degree plus one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience ii Good interpersonal writing and verbal communication skills iii Ability to identify analyze and solve problems iv Ability to manage time and work well under pressure v Computer literate with proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook vi Familiarity with Internet applications

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: i Bachelor s degree preferably in science public health health education or a related field ii Prior experience in healthcare or research settings iii Prior patient education experience iv Knowledge of research methodologies protocols and regulatory requirements v Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and confidential patient records vi Proficiency in using electronic health records EHR systems and other relevant software applications eg REDCap Qualtrics including qualitative research tools eg Dedoose Atlas ti vii Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to comprehend scientific literature viii Compassionate and patient centered approach to care with a commitment to ensuring patient safety and well being ix Proficiency in another language is a plus

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $21.10 - $43.82 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
