Job Summary

As a research associate, you are a key contributor to consumer research and sensory projects:
  • Project management - Coordinate market research project and ensure execution within the given timeline. Translate research question into a research design and support questionnaire development, fieldwork coordination and data quality checks.
  • Data mining - Analyze large sets of raw data, run advanced statistics using IFF statistical softwares. Interpret results and key findings with senior colleagues to deepen expertise, translate them into actionable insights to support the different projects within IFF
  • Knowledge management & communication - Contribute to building project reports. Debrief conclusions and report outputs with senior colleagues/manager. Deliver final presentations to key stakeholders. Address routine questions on project (rationale on design, on content...).
  • Partnerships: work collaboratively across multiple functions at a global level to ensure proper follow-ups and efficient execution. Act as key contributor in final project deliverables.

Responsibilities / Description

  • Initiate new connections within the organization at country or region level, to facilitate work progress within own area
  • Coordinate and interact with relevant teams (Creative, Logistics, Marketing, Codex etc.) to execute required tasks
  • Act as time-keeper on projects. Check proactively with all relevant teams that the actions they have to fulfil are on schedule.
  • Address routine questions on project (rationale on design, on content...). Escalate pending questions for appropriate reply.
  • Escalate immediately any impactful project issue (significant delay, critical data discrepancy...) to direct manager for proper guidance.
  • Review from scientific literature and report on findings.
  • Proof reading of survey documents (screeners, questionnaires, raw data templates) and master questionnaires from vendors
  • Edit or create survey documents following instructions from manager or senior colleagues
  • Create rotation plans (complete blocks)
  • Set up meetings with project members for kick off and follow-ups
  • Share RACI, instructions, documents and updates with project team
  • Draft brief for vendor and request quotation
  • Perform basic SAP transactions and invoice checking to kick off project invoicing process.
  • Update Project management system where applicable (PUMA).
  • Assess completeness and consistency of individual raw data and/or aggregate data received from vendors by executing quality controls.
  • Conduct data analysis.
  • Generate toplines and draft full reports (with conclusions).
  • Debrief conclusions and report outputs with senior colleagues/manager.
  • Deliver final presentations to internal stakeholders.
  • Tools
  • Complete advanced training on HCI Database, Dashboard and statistical software (SARA).
  • HCI Database: Create surveys (from master templates or by duplicating existing surveys), create questions, upload Decoder data, clean data, validate dataset entry in database.
  • Escalate critical discrepancies to direct manager, address minor discrepancies directly with vendor.
  • SARA: Run advanced data analysis (Linear regression, ANOVA, eDNA, Free sorting, Text mining...)
  • Consumer Expertise
  • Read IFF reports on consumers segmentation (Choice Model) and consumers' behaviors main specificities in relevant markets (U&As).
  • Attend internal events (workshops, trainings) focusing on consumers' knowledge in specific markets, and external events (conferences, congresses, webinars).
  • Run data analysis on multiple IFF surveys to identify key findings.
  • Interpret analysis results and key findings with senior colleagues to deepen expertise.
  • Update Project management system where applicable (PUMA)
  • Assess completeness and consistency of individual raw data and/or aggregate data received from vendors by executing quality controls
  • Conduct data analysis

  • Product Knowledge (where applicable)
  • Read IFF reports on top-sellers in the relevant sub-categories and markets
  • Run data analysis on multiple IFF surveys involving different products (Market products, IFF candidates, sketches...) in relevant sub-categories and markets to identify key findings
  • Interpret analysis results and key findings with senior colleagues to deepen expertise
  • Create initial invoicing steps in SAP database: Internal Order (IO) creation and Purchase Requisition (PR) -where applicable-
  • Responsible for data input in PUMA database
  • Identify any cost discrepancy compared to initial quote received from vendor, and escalate to direct manager for proper guidance
  • Demonstrate initiative and a self-driven approach in professional self-development (proactive use of internal training tool to enhance hard and/or soft skills)

Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Human Sciences, Engineering and/or Psychology.
  • High affinity with Fragrance and FMCG industries
  • Strong interest for consumer understanding and skills in data analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must
  • Very good written and oral communication competences in English
  • Learning agility and drive for results
  • Effective team player, Informative and Collaborative style
  • Organized, rigorous and curious
  • Ability to evolve in complex and moving environment.
  • Preferably 1-2 years of industry experience in relevant areas
