Summary of Job Duties:The CHASSE Communications Intern will work no more than 20 hours a week and make minimum wage. Interns will meet weekly with the Director of Communications for the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education, will work in the Dean's Office, and will provide assistance with various communications projects (mainly social media and news stories) throughout the Dean's Office and the College. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree from UA Little Rock;
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support and assistance to supervisor;
  • Write news stories that pertain to the college
  • Assist in the planning and creation of digital design assets for social media
  • Track and review social media analytics
  • Create charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork, using computer.
  • Capture photos and videos for the college's social media accounts
  • Provides support and assists in the planning, production and design of on-brand print and web
  • materials
  • Assist those who come in or call the Dean's Office
  • Other duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects collaborate across teams as well as work independently;
  • Ability to think, reason, and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in
  • compliance; with college standards;
  • Ability to work under pressure and set priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Adequate computer skills;
  • Ability to communicate both orally & in writing.
  • Possess thoughtful, creative and strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think, reason and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in
  • compliance with college standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and set priorities within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to various on-campus locations as needed
