May need to be on-site periodically for meetings/other special circumstances Your Role With Us:Referral Specialist- Family Medicine Support Services1. Outgoing Referral Processing:Manage routine referral requests, including processing authorizations and verifying/renewing pre-authorizations to ensure financial reimbursement.Document referral and authorization details accurately in Epic, including diagnosis and ICD-10 codes.Coordinate outgoing referrals by compiling and sending necessary documents to external specialists.Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and specialty offices to resolve barriers and expedite referral processing, particularly for urgent cases.Ensure accurate insurance verification and benefits eligibility using appropriate tools (e.g., HDX, PhTech).2. Work Queue, Faxes, and Epic In-basket Management:Process and route external lab and imaging results to the appropriate services.Ensure correct order association for scanned return results.Complete and assist with departmental work queue assignments and manage referral-related faxes.3. Exceptional computer skills and the ability to quickly master multiple computer programs & web-based resources is required. 2. Knowledge of business and office machines such as: fax, telephone, computer/printer, copier; reception skills required. 3. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to work in a very busy, multidisciplinary setting. 4. Must have good clerical skills, including typing (60 wpm) and excellent telephone etiquette and good organizational and record-keeping skills. 5. Must abide by HIPAA regulations and hold information in confidence. 6. Must have appropriate manner, conduct and grooming and present a professional image. Comments/Other: This position is a 100% remote (working from home) role, following the orientation period of a minimum of 6 weeks. Exceptions for on campus work would be considered on an individual basis and may be needed for specific situations including but not limited to training/precepting, meetings, equipment failure, and corrective action.
