UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Clinical Nurse Educator. This opportunity is a full-time (1.0 FTE), day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Minimum $83,283 - Midpoint $106,121*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Summary:

Provides clinical education and evaluation to nursing and patient care staff, and facilitates evidenced-based research within a ambulatory nursing. Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for a specialized group of patients. Performs direct specialty nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence to AAAHC standards and all related HSC policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Clinical Nurse Educator:

Equivalent education leading to Registered Nurse Certification. Certification/Licensure State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR Current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Clinical Nurse Educator:



  1. Provides educational leadership to Clinics and care providers.
  2. Assists Clinics with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.
  3. Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff, and clinic management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.
  4. Initiates clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptorship models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
  5. Develops reports, incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards; consults with and serves as a clinical resource for unit management to ensure quality patient care through telemedicine.
  6. Educates technical and patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.
  7. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
