Under the supervision of a physician, the Occupational Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant Certified or Nurse Practitioner) conducts a wide variety of evaluation and examination duties for the employees of client companies, including injury and illness assessment and pre-placement and fitness-for-duty examinations. The Occupational Medicine Advanced Practice Provider also participates in the development and maintenance of educational and preventive programs related to occupational health.

This is a full-time opportunity primarily based at our St. Paul Midway and M Health Fairview - Woodbury campuses. Monday - Friday schedule of 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (schedule subject to change). This position may require flexibility to float to other MOH sites as needed.



  • Performs and oversees episodic care for employees of client companies.
  • Assists with the development and oversight of on-site employer services.
  • Conducts fitness-for-duty and pre-placement physical examinations.
  • Deals in the prevention of work-related injuries, illnesses and disabilities.
  • Re-examines disability cases periodically to verify progress.
  • Advises regarding community health and health-related policy issues such as benefits and product safety values.
  • Provides professional expertise to the occupational health program to include development and review of medical standards, policies & procedures, scope, direction and planning.
  • Participates in activities that are intended to maintain and increase market share companies as clients, including regular client relationship-building site visits.
  • Works within legal scope of practice and consults with physicians on patient care as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors of Nurse Practitioner (required)
Bachelors of Physician Assistant (required)
Experience
Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Minnesota. (required)
Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Minnesota. (required)
2 years: Minimum of two years of experience practicing family medicine, emergency medicine or occupational medicine. (required)
