GENERAL FUNCTION
Position is responsible for the overall inventory control structure of monitoring inventory processes. Ensure inventory risks are properly reported/communicated. This role works cross functionally with operations, finance, systems support, planning, etc., to mitigate risks and improve overall accuracy of inventory in the physical and transit locations. Provides reporting and feedback to management to ensure that requirements are met.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works independently to analyze inventory risk in transit and physical locations
- Ensure the facility is within Cycle count compliance, maintained and completed on time for each facility, per our corporate policy.
- Generates quarterly reports for Operations, Inventory Control and Finance departments.
- Ensure cycle count procedures consistent with corporate policies via partnership with Operations teams.
- Performs SAP movements necessary to keep compliance in inventory accuracy.
- Performs critical aging analysis and timely recommendations to finance and operations for write off materials.
- Coordinate with operations in physical inventory controls and processes.
- Maintain, develop and/or improve key inventory control and audit processes including, but not limited to bin audits, 999 processing audits, floor audits, process flows, etc.
- Support the quarterly SAP sync process to ensure inventory accounting requirements are met including timing, reporting and system availability.
- Proactively engages with operations management and corporate finance on inventory process and partner on solutions that will result in improved control of inventories (physical and/or systemic).
- Maintain, develop, and improve SOPs for key activities.
- Prepares management reports to meet both local and corporate requirements.
- Support special projects including new developments, material moves and new warehouses.
- Manage performance of a small staff of Analysts
- Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years' experience in Inventory Control, Finance, or related field.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with Excel and SAP (or other ERP system)
- Strong learning agility: ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power Point.
- Experience with data analysis and creation of basic business reports (ad hoc and executive summaries).
- Strong interpersonal, team and communication skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking / analytical skills including work quality / attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet department / company targets
- Experience with Business Intelligence platforms (i.e. Business Objects)
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate competing priorities.
- Initiative and openness to learn new skills and/or take on additional responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of SAP experience
- Master's degree
- Experience in Accounting or related field.
