The Clinical Research Assistant will work within the School of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology (1.0 FTE). This position will join the team of Kevin Deane, MD, PhD. Dr. Deane's research primarily focuses on pre-clinical rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and learning more about how and why RA develops with the aim to work toward RA prevention. The role will be to work on a new project called StopRA:National and will assist with outreach efforts to providers and potential participants across the US. This position will work with our research study participants, address questions related to study participation and enrollment, assist with scheduling, and would assist during research study visits under the supervision of the clinical research manager. It will also involve confirming that human biological samples (blood, stool, sputum, and saliva) have been collected and properly routed for testing and storage, as applicable. The role will also be expected to capture and enter data in a detailed way and will help provide general administrative and technical support to investigators and the rest of the study team. This position will also help us maintain our sample biorepository and will help with updating and tracking of biospecimens for use in secondary use research protocols as needed from the study team. This position will require appropriate and effective communication with participants, study team, and study investigators, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to maintain relationships that are equally respectful to all. Research and study activities will be conducted remotely in many instances and the person in this position will help facilitate. Some study visits will be conducted at the Barbara Davis Center on the Anschutz medical campus in Aurora. We are passionate about what we do and deeply value collaboration, creativity, and growth. - Participate in subject recruitment efforts, including outreach to rheumatology clinics across the US and assisting with social media campaigns to get the word out about the study, and communicating with patients expressing an interest.
- Assist with outreach and coordination with outside events (like health fairs) where we work to get our study team and research out to the community.
- Participate in informed consent process, and provide information to study participants, collect, and enter study information.
- Share resources and provide information to potential subjects on the details of the studies over the phone, in-person or through email.
- Schedule subject participation in research studies, coordinating availability of necessary space, and clinical research support (e.g., physician, nurse practitioner, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy).
- Follow-up with study subjects as needed to secure all necessary medical history and current medication information, including requesting medical records and tracking medical record requests.
- Act as a main point of contact and administrative resource for StopRA:National, including assisting study team to maintain meetings, meeting agendas and meeting notes pertaining to StopRA:National.
- Track and run reports for study and patient enrollment.
- Will be responsible for communicating with the PI, Project Manager, sponsor, and other contacts as appropriate and helping maintain project timelines.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Clinical Research Assistant II:
- Two (2) years of general clerical or administrative experience.
Clinical Research Assistant III:
- Three (3) years of general clerical or administrative experience.
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR or other data management systems), or other electronic data entry systems.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as: Clinical Research Assistant II: $39,060.00 - $45,314.40 Clinical Research Assistant III: $49,848 - $57,825.60 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
