Description
RESPONSIBILITIES

Principal Responsibilities:



  • Develop detailed shop and field drawings for the installation of metal deck, roofing, and other trades in construction projects.
  • Use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and other drafting tools to produce accurate and clear drawings.
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers, and field teams to gather necessary information and resolve design challenges.
  • Identify potential issues in designs and propose solutions to ensure constructability and efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards, codes, and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with project team to create accurate material specifications into plans and bill of materials.
  • Support field crews with clarifications, revisions, and additional details during construction.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Education



  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Familiarity with construction standards, codes, and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • In Progress - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).



Preferred Skills:



  • Familiarity with construction standards, codes, and practices.
  • Knowledge of material takeoffs and estimating processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and shop drawings.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit for extended periods while using computer software.
  • Occasional site visits to coordinate with field teams, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Wage scale is based on education and experience. The range is from $57k to $94k per year. We offer very generous benefits including bonus, profit sharing, medical, dental, prescription drug coverage to name a few. We are 100% employee owned.
