Job Summary:



The Procurement and Operations Coordinator works in conjunction with the Procurement Coordinator and under the direction of the Director of Business Operations to ensure an efficient procurement workflow and effective business operations. This role will also have operational duties such as invoice processing, development of procurement training, and clinic integration procurement project management.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintains a working knowledge of all current University, state, and federal policies that are relevant to purchasing and procurement. Follows University, state, and federal policies and procedures.
  • Monitors & ensures continuous and consistent analyses of expenses to ensure compliance with university procurement rules, regulations, and internal procedures are being followed.
  • Communicates effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Assists departments in purchasing goods and services as needed.
  • Informs the departments of procedural or process changes.
  • Communicates and ensures compliance with CU policies and procedures with stakeholders.
  • Serves as a mentor and preceptor for new staff and as a constant resource to all staff.
  • Provides complex administrative and project support using intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, MS Project and/or PowerPoint).
  • Participates in various special projects. May interact with executives and employees across multiple organizations, as well as external representatives' parties as a liaison for the department/function.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Work Location:



Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of professional-level experience with procurement and fiscal responsibilities.

    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.




Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Working knowledge of ambulatory clinic or physician practice operations.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Prior experience working with a diverse population of physicians, nursing managers, and sales representatives.
  • Prior experience purchasing and interpreting procurement policies.
  • Prior experience with purchasing contracts.
  • Prior experience using web-based information systems.
  • Prior experience with Core360, Concur, Marketplace.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including physicians, leadership, and staff within the various affiliate organizations (UCH, Children's Colorado, CU Medicine, CU SOM).
  • Ability to work within large, complex healthcare systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-starter capabilities and operate with minimal supervision.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $54,383 to $69,175.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
