Job Summary The MassHire Greater Brockton Career Center is a non-profit One-Stop Career Center that is managed by the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute (UMDI) and is overseen under charter with the MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board (MHGBCC). The MHGBCC is located in downtown Brockton and provides employment and training services to businesses and job seekers. The Business Services Representative (BSR) is responsible for developing, offering, and delivering the very highest quality business services and is the key link between area businesses and the job seekers of the MHGBCC. This position helps the MassHire Greater Brockton Career Center balance traditional labor exchange services with strategic talent development. Essential Functions
- Meets with businesses via site visits, email, direct mail, cold call, referral, or other methods and provides information and technical assistance on state and federally sponsored programs available to them and assists with implementation as appropriate. These programs include talent acquisition and training, specifically: Mass BizWorks, Workforce Training Fund, Safety Grants, the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Workshare, and Rapid Response.
- Compiles and enters all necessary data into the Massachusetts One-Stop Employment System (MOSES management information system.) Uses MOSES Crystal Reports to access data and outcomes, allowing data to drive decision making.
- Tracks and follows up on all job orders for timeliness and results of referrals using the MOSES database.
- Conducts job development on site at the Career Center, identifying potential job opportunities based on job seeker talent pool.
- Ensures employment and other opportunities offered by area businesses are available to job seekers, and that the broadest possible talent pool is established for each position, both directly and through MHGBCC Career Specialists and partnering agency direct service staff.
- Acts as a conduit for businesses who are seeking talent, partnering with the business to assess needs and provide appropriate solutions which may include: creating a job-order, facilitating recruitments, or coordinating on the job trainings.
- Meets regularly with MHGBCC Career Specialists and searches databases including MHGBCC client resumes, JobQuest, and MOSES to assess and refer the available talent pool.
- Implements Recruitment Solutions Initiative (RSI) policies and procedures with respect to fulfillment of business needs.
- Creates marketing materials for Business Services events such as job fairs and recruitments. Attends and participates in local job fairs. Utilizes email marketing systems (Constant Contact or Marketing Cloud) to assist in advertising the events.
- Works in a highly integrated, multi-organizational center. This will require extensive cross training to allow more effective collaboration and provide coverage for other team members as required. This collaboration includes the seamless integration of partnering agencies to the Business Services processes.
Other Functions
- Participates in business unit and UMDI-wide initiatives as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- Bachelor's Degree. Degree requirement may be waived in lieu of three (3) years of related experience.
- Knowledge of the Workforce Development System.
- Aptitude to present Business Services in a professional manner to area employers.
- Aptitude to be trained and learn the MOSES database.

- Ability and flexibility to work with all customers, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, or disability.
- Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher).
- Access to reliable transportation, and willingness and flexibility to use private auto in day-to-day assignments for travel on an as-need basis within Massachusetts.
- Ability to work flexible hours with some evening and possibly weekend hours required.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- Ability to speak, read and write in other additional languages preferred. Languages preferred include but are not limited to: Haitian/Creole, Spanish, Cape Verdean, and Portuguese.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Multiple hours in stationary position, using office equipment and computers, attending meetings, working closely and collaboratively with others.
- In-office environment is a busy, open area with multiple interruptions and requests for assistance.
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team member and with varying amounts of support, as project assignments may require.
- Some transporting of supplies up to 20 pounds.
- The physical/mental demands and work environment factors described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work Schedule
- Standard full time work schedule consisting of five eight-hour days and 40 hours each workweek.
