Events Specialist - Remote within Des Moines, IA, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN, or Omaha, NE

Pay: $20.60+ per hour (experience will be compensated)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift times: Primarily Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Location: Remote

Job type: Non-Exempt

Travel: Travel required for events 3-5 times per year for 2-4 days at a time. Locations include Fargo, ND, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, IA, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN, and Omaha and Lincoln, NE.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience planning and coordinating successful events.
  • Access to independent transportation, valid driver's license, and current vehicle insurance, with willingness to drive to different locations within the affiliate as needed.



Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the coordination and management of donor-focused fundraising events, including creating and managing event timelines and projects, executing event plans, handling invitation production and mailings, and managing guest registrations.
  • Manage events-related data in Raiser's Edge, including guest registrations, list requests, and running exports to create event reports and updates for gift officers, management, and the broader team.
  • Plan and execute event logistics, including contract management, catering, decor, equipment rentals, fundraising technology, security, guest seating, event preparation, day-of execution, follow up, and reporting.
  • Coordinate online event operations and work with the Communications team to create event websites and coordinate bulk emails using an email management platform.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with venues, vendors, community partners, cross-departmental staff, donors, and volunteers.
  • Assist in maintaining event budgets and processing invoices.
  • Travel and attend fundraising events across the affiliate as needed.
