Position Summary
The Division of Global Women's Health in the Department of Ob-Gyn supports faculty conducting research studies in Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and other international locations. We are launching a multi-site, 15,000 participant observational cohort study to document the course and outcomes of labor, delivery and the immediate postpartum period in settings where adverse birth outcomes are high. The resulting high-quality, granular and generalizable data will be used to develop new tools to reduce intrapartum morbidity and mortality in low-resource settings.

The Data Manager will be responsible for helping to establish data collection systems, managing and combining datasets from disparate data sources and monitoring and maintaining high quality data for scientific analysis and academic research.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Familiarity with good clinical practices and protection of human subjects.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities appropriately and organize workload effectively.
  • Good interpersonal communication, and writing skills.
  • Experience with REDCap or other cost efficient databases available in an academic environment.
  • Experience coding data checks and/or building datasets in Stata, SAS, R, or a similar coding language is highly preferred.
