Introduction to the job

The MDM Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and governance of Master Data Management at Cymer. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce MDM policies, procedures, and standards. MDM Engineers need to gain a solid understanding of business context, goals, and challenges across the organization. Communicating effectively with stakeholders of all functions and levels is paramount, to translate needs into strategies and plans. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Master Data Management principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Role and responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement MDM Framework: Utilize MDM systems (e.g., Informatica, Collibra) to help establish MDM policies, definitions, and validation processes to maintain high standards of master data.

  • Data Quality Management: Monitor and assess data quality across various systems and databases, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to enhance data accuracy and consistency.

  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with business and IT teams to identify and define master data domains, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Data Governance: Aid in the cataloging and curation of data assets, building out metadata to ensure integrity, and developing practical and effective recommendations and action plans for improving data protection and definition.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders of all functions and necessary levels to translate needs into strategies and plans.

  • MDM Meetings and Workshops: Facilitate regular MDM meetings and workshops to educate stakeholders and address MDM-related concerns.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct data analysis, provide insights to improve data quality and consistency, and support the quantification of value propositions for MDM strategies.

  • KPI Dashboard Management: Design and maintain the MDM KPI dashboard to monitor data quality and performance.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Stay informed about relevant data protection and privacy regulations, and identify and mitigate risks related to master data management.

  • MDM Tool Selection and Implementation: Support the selection and implementation of MDM tools and solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements.

  • Data Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with IT teams to oversee the development and enforcement of data lifecycle management to govern the creation, usage, and storage of master data.

  • Fostering MDM Awareness: Foster a culture of MDM awareness and accountability across the enterprise, ensuring that master data processes are understood and executed in accordance with the MDM strategy.

Education and experience;
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant domain
  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience in an analyst or business intelligence role.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and collaborative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and dashboarding tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and MSSQL.
  • Proficiency in Collibra, Denodo, and Spotfire preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sufficient technical knowledge and experience to be able to communicate effectively with the engineering teams, and to check/review their plans and progress.
  • Self-starter; self-motivator; willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to adapt processes to reduce inefficiencies and accelerate product development.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$90,750-151,250

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
