Horizon BCBSNJ employees must live in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Delaware Job Summary: This position is responsible for leading Analytics at Horizon, and addressing the information management needs of their respective functional areas.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of Analytic products related to all pillars of Horizon and domains such as provider network, government programs, employer group, medical cost, service operations, legal/regulatory, and others.
- Drive and embrace standardization of metrics, methodology, and consistent look/feel of output that enables business to easily use the products
- Encourage team to use design thinking in their analytics work
- Use an Agile methodology where appropriate and forge a product roadmap/product pipeline discipline in Analytics
- Oversees:
- For Government Programs- government programs analytics to include clinical, financial, provider and operational.
- For Finance, Service, HR, BPI, Legal- finance, service, HR, BPI and Legal divisions' analytical needs.
- For MBU- market business units analytics to include employer group reporting, market proof point development, product and marketing.
- For Shared Services department-wide analytics products to support strategic and operational priorities
- Oversees the delivery of information from the Impact analysis and Impact Pro Software where applicable to their area(s).
- Establishes and runs the analytics program management office and provides project management services for projects that meet established governance thresholds.
- Runs demand management, planning, and prioritization process and provides budget and resource management for Analytics.
- Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Plans, organizes and leads the work of others with minimal supervision, while developing department goals and objectives consistent with functional area(s) vision and strategies.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor Degree preferred or relevant work experience required in lieu of degree.. Requires a minimum of 12 years of health care and/or business experience. Requires a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires extensive knowledge of the healthcare and managed care industry and knowledge of healthcare data.
- Requires knowledge of basic analytical software packages, such as MS Excel.
- Requires knowledge of data software packages such as DB2, SQL, Teradata, Oracle, etc.
- Requires knowledge of advanced analytical software packages such as SAS, Cognos, R, SPSS, etc.
- Requires ability to perform advanced level of research, data analysis and problem solving.
- Requires excellent analytical thinking skills.
- Requires strong leadership and managerial ability.
- Requires the ability to manage technical resources and demonstrated experience in acquisition, training and development of management and staff.
- Requires strong project management, customer service and conflict management skills that can be applied in providing support and direction to team members.
- Requires strong written and oral communication skills and ability to present complex data analytics clearly.
- For Shared Services, requires knowledge of big data platforms and software packages such as Aster, Hadoop, Python, Hive, Pig, etc.
Salary Range: $165,200 - $229,845
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
