Licensed Occupational Therapist (Norristown State Hospital)

The Department of Human Services, Norristown Sate Hospital, is seeking a motivated Licensed Occupational Therapist. As a Licensed Occupational Therapist, you will design, implement, and evaluate occupational treatment therapies for residents. In this hands-on role, you will determine program needs that will help develop functional skills or strengthen existing skills in patients. Excellent communication and patient rapport are required to sustain interest in activities that improve adaptive skills and to evaluate progress changes to ensure goals are achieved at the highest functional level. You will conduct group and individualized programs, participate as a team member in multidisciplinary meetings, and maintain orthotic devices and adaptive equipment as recommended.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a license to practice occupational therapy as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
