Job Overview

The Clinical Technician (Unit Assistant) is responsible for providing non-clinical operational support to a patient care unit under supervision. Responsible for the overall cleaning, transport and management of patient related equipment and pumps utilized during patient care in assigned Clinical unit(s). In support of assigned departments, acts as liaison for all equipment replenishment needs, recall management, equipment, and associated product conversions, and organization and labeling of equipment within the clean/soiled utility locations in their areas of assigned responsibility.

The main focus of this position will be working with our Lower-Level Disinfection Team to clean the feeding pumps after a patient has been discharged. Some additional duties would include stocking supplies, place nourishment orders, stock linen, etc.

Education: High school diploma, or equivalency

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

  • No Direct Patient Care

Conducts care, cleaning, packaging, sterilization, and inventory of equipment, and supplies within storage areas, in-patient rooms and/or family/visitor areas as directed.

Supports maintenance of equipment by reporting maintenance needs and transferring equipment to appropriate place for repair and maintenance. Documents equipment related problems or damage.

Adheres to all infection control policies and safety guidelines in support of patient safety. Communicates safety concerns to appropriate team members and/or team leaders.

Provides customer service support to patient and families while completing daily activities such as cleaning patient rooms. Assistance physicians, and internal team members by responding to equipment and supply requests.

Reviews and identifies supplies to be ordered to support clinical and non-clinical practices.

Performs low level disinfection and distribution of patient care related equipment

Maintains pre-established PAR/Supply Levels for assigned department, based on established metrics, utilization data and review schedule.

Conducts inventory of instruments, equipment and supplies and assists with annual physical inventories.

Follows established processes associated with Inventory Management, Bio-med, or other departments.

Receives incoming shipments and deliveries of equipment and supplies. Documents and stores all the shipment materials according to established procedures

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $31,561.73 to $47,342.60
Hourly Salary Range: $15.17 to $22.76
