Data Analytics Intern (Meter Data Operations) - Summer 2025

OUC - The Reliable One, an industry leader and the second-largest municipal utility in Florida, is offering an internship program in the Meter Data Management.

We are looking for a Data Analytics Intern (Meter Data Operations) - Summer 2025. During the internship, you will be involved in:

• Working with disparate data sets (i.e.- CIS, GIS, AMI) to systematically identify and correct geospatial attributes of electric assets (mainly meters/endpoints and transformers) and the electrical 'connectivity' between said assets (aka meter-to-transformer connectivity model)
• Using advanced data & analytics tools (i.e. - Snowflake, Alteryx, Tableau, Python, SQL, PowerBI) to facilitate the assignment with the Meter Data Operations Team

Internship Eligibility:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a degree seeking program
  Academic status of Senior
• Program of study: Computer Science, Data Science, and related majors
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to commit to a full-time schedule between May 19, 2025 through August 15, 2025

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Advanced Excel Skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in querying via SQL
• Data Analysis
• Data Storytelling Skills

"Nice to Haves":

• Geospatial Analysis
• Workflow creation/automation
• Experience with Python, Tableau, Alteryx, and/or Snowflake

At a high level, Meter Data Operations (MDO), supports operations to be data-driven. MDO promotes cross-departmental collaboration and enables the operation teams to be self-sufficient. MDO implements/promotes D&A governance as well as provides prioritization for the Meter Data operational and analytics projects. MDO reads every meter, every day, and identifies and delivers the proper work based on the business operation needs. Data is not thrown away!

Compensation: $20.00 per hour, varies depending the education level

Schedule: Full-Time (up to 40 hours per week) - Hybrid Schedule
