18 Position Summary
The Power Generation Manager of Mechanical Projects leads a team of Project Managers and Professional Engineers to provide technical guidance and support, Regulatory Compliance support (NERC, TCEQ, ERCOT, Texas RE, State of Texas), Asset Program Development, and monitors direct reports while they perform their duties in support of the Power Plants. Interacts with plant management, contracted staff, and craft personnel to ensure their needs are met. Oversees the Mechanical Boiler Compliance and Welding Programs to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of power plant boilers. Interacts with outside vendors, suppliers, engineering consultants, etc. with the goal of achieving and surpassing targets set for mechanical projects and programs as described in the Business Plan document for Power Generation and the Capital and O&M budgets. Assignments are broad and complex in nature requiring originality, ingenuity, and leadership. This position uses specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise to recommend best practices and propose innovative solutions to solve complex problems. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. Tasks and Responsibilities
Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Experience in power plant mechanical systems, general power plant O&M processes, project management, budget and project schedule development, personnel management, and development, purchasing materials and services and managing vendors and contactors.
Experience managing highly complex projects and programs across within the electric generation business or utility industry.
Significant successful leadership experience, including leading projects, programs, and people.
A demonstrated ability to work effectively with business executives, leaders, with all levels of professionals, and with engineers, project managers and teams.
Skill in analyzing and solving complex problems.
Skill in verbal and written communication, including effectively communicating information to large audiences.
Skill in creating and delivering presentations before regulatory agencies and the public.

Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university. Required Certifications Working Environment

Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events. Physical Demands
