Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an Exciting Potential Opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to support Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.

Degree Requirement:

    Master's or Doctorate Degree in Social Work.

Education:

  • Graduate from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited program.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of clinical social work practice within the past five (5) years, post-licensure, ideally in a government setting (e.g., Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs), providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, or groups.
  • At least two (2) years of clinical psychology practice within the past five (5) years.
  • Experience in behavioral interventions, critical incident management, public speaking, and case management.
  • Must provide clinical peer reviews conducted within two years prior to application.

Licensure:

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as a licensed clinical social worker in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Basic Life Support (BLS):

  • Maintain current BLS certification through an American Heart Association and/or Red Cross-approved training program.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to practice independently without state-mandated clinical supervision, with a solid understanding of professional standards and ethics for delivering social work services.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse groups, including enlisted personnel, officers, senior leadership, spouses, and family members.
  • Proficient in crisis debriefing, traumatic event counseling, individual and family counseling, case management, and training.
  • Capable of preparing and delivering formal briefings and speeches to INSCOM leadership at all levels.
  • Familiarity with military culture and lifestyle is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships within and outside the organization, working as part of a team with professionalism, maturity, and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Security Clearance:

  • Minimum of a Secret Security Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility; TS/SCI clearance is preferred.

Core Duties:

  • Practice according to state licensing board guidelines, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) privileges.
  • Comply with Army OTSG/MEDCOM, DHA, and Combatant Command Force Health Protection policies for deployment assessments.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations using clinical interviews and collateral sources as appropriate.
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses following the APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups, including support for medical and surgical patients coping with illness or injury.
  • Support patient rehabilitation efforts.
