RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist to join our team. As a Lead Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist, you will provide leadership and management to technologists in assigned modality. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. You will also support and enhance the overall team by acting as a resource for new and long-term associates.




  • This position is full-time, with a standard schedule of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday at our East Boynton, FL center, however evening, weekend availability is required.


  • As a Lead MRI Technologist, you will be required to support the department with coverage due to callouts, PTO requests and other related staffing shortage and safety concerns as they arise.



  • The MRI Lead Tech may be required to work shifts starting as early as 5am and ending as late as 12am, including weekends.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(80-85%) Patient MR Imaging
Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure. Explains and prepares patients for MRI imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately. Performs routine and advanced MRI imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing SAR reduction techniques as appropriate. Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers. Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers. Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS). Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use. Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
(10-15%) Team Supervision
Assists in the hiring process for new associates. Coordinates the training and onboarding of new associates. Leads regular team meetings and associates' one-on-ones. Monitors and approves timecards. Initiates and participates in performance reviews, development, and performance management of associates. Develops associate schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage. Evaluates workflow and implements process improvements for the team. Ensures team has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures are in place. Supports associates ensuring highest level of patient satisfaction. Leads special projects and/or committees, as assigned. Manages other departments in the absence of manager or peers and coordinates schedule to ensure appropriate coverage
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

  • ARRT registered Technologist, current and in good standing
  • 4+ years imaging experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform advanced MRI procedures independently with highest quality
  • Certification in imaging specialty-MRI

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (not a requirement)
  • Works in multiple modalities and/or has multi-modality certifications
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience
