Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle manages outsourced revenue cycle vendors and collaborates with internal UCH leaders to ensure optimal performance of internal and outsourced revenue cycle functions. Oversees outsourced revenue cycle vendors, develops and implements financial and operational reporting packages to assess the performance of the outsourced revenue cycle functions, and serves as a liaison between UCH leadership and outsourced vendors. Analyzes key revenue cycle metrics to identify performance issues and implement corrective action.

Collaborates with UCH leadership, vendors, and payers to develop policies and procedures to ensure vendor partners are delivering products and services that meet or exceed contractual and service level agreements and strives to continuously improve vendor and payor relationships and processes. Prepares budget, manages expenses, and participates in strategic planning, both long and short term.

Key Results Areas (KRAs):

  • Documents and implements RCM policies and workflows.
  • Responsible for daily interaction with RCM vendors.
  • Defines, measures, and benchmarks vendor performance in a consistent manner to develop an approach for discussing and implementing best practices, standardized solutions, tools, and performance auditing. Prepares reports for Executive Leadership.
  • Works with outsourced vendors and UCH leadership to improve collections, reduce accounts receivable, reduce denial rates, and reduce avoidable write-offs through issue identification, research, communication, and process improvement.
  • Liaison between revenue cycle vendor(s) and clinical departments to communicate in standard approach with vendors.
  • Manage small Revenue Cycle team, providing coaching to ensure workplans are maintained and prioritized appropriately.
  • Research new products and services, in collaboration with leadership, that may contribute to UCH goals.
  • Evaluate revenue cycle contracts, new and existing, and when appropriate lead RFP process and new contract execution in collaboration with leadership.
  • Promotes an organizational focus by establishing department and personal goals consistent with organizational goals, facilitating collaboration and coordination for interdepartmental problem-solving and supporting new concepts that enhance the functioning of area operations.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and municipal laws, regulations and ordinances for assigned area. Maintains compliance with organization policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Ensures fiscal responsibility including RCM budget preparation, labor and supply cost management and revenue enhancement.
  • Acts as lead in projects, identify opportunities and develop recommendations for improvements.
Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business management, finance, economics, or a related major required.
  • 5 years of work experience managing vendor relationships; experience in revenue cycle operations required.
  • Experience with Epic preferred.
  • Demonstrated high levels of initiative, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate through ambiguity and provide a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent influencing skills, with the demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and navigate competing interests.
