Production Supervisor - 1st Shift

We are Systems, LLCa leading manufacturer and designer of loading dock equipment. Wecontinue to GROW and are seeking a motivated team player to join our organization.

This is a role within Systems' Manufacturing and Production group. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Responsible for supervising multiple work cells and up to 30 team members; work ethically and with integrity, uphold organizational values; demonstrate leadership and show ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company, and (ii) Consistently meet or exceed planned production goals and KPIs on assigned shift; continuously improve productivity and efficiency through effective employee relations, manpower planning, 5S principles, material and parts planning, and timely resolution of production problems. Requires 3+ years supervisory experience or as a team lead in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of a Associates' degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising multiple work cells and up to 30 team members; work ethically and with integrity, uphold organizational values; demonstrate leadership and show ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company; monitor hour-by-hour production operations and identify any deviations from the process for correction and escalate when appropriate

  • Consistently meet or exceed planned production goals and KPIs on assigned shift; continuously improve productivity and efficiency through effective employee relations, manpower planning, 5S principles, material and parts planning, and timely resolution of production problems

  • Work closely with employees to ensure they have adequate materials, tools, equipment, and training to perform their job safely, efficiently, and consistently; responsible for new employee training, monitoring, and coaching

  • Ensure the highest quality standards are always followed

  • Ensure compliance with company safety and 5S policy, and environmental regulations at all times

  • Process time and attendance, perform and handle disciplinary procedures; prioritize work schedules, delegate work assignments, approve and track time-off requests; coach and complete performance reviews for direct reports;

  • Ensure production tracker boards are updated daily and all ERP functions related to production are performed by end of shift

  • Ensure the maintenance and maximum utilization of production machinery and equipment is achieved

  • Expedite rush and special orders

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Protect Chamberlain Group's and Systems' reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

  • Motivate and lead a high performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining team members

  • Drive the performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback and facilitating employee development per the company's policies

  • Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications

  • Lead and motivate individuals and teams to create a workplace culture that is consistent with the CGI mission, vision and values.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates' degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years supervisory experience or as a team lead in a manufacturing environment

  • Welding background desired

  • Professional work experience that demonstrates progressive increase in level of responsibility and scope of duties

  • Six Sigma or proficient in Lean / 5S

  • Leadership Training

  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PPT

  • Ability to use an ERP system

  • Experience with 5 whys / root cause analysis

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Preferred: Welding, Fabrication, and experience with industrial paint systems

  • Experience with MRP, BOM and Routing

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit up

  • Ability to use hand to finger, handle, and feel

  • Ability to climb and balance

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl

  • Ability to reach with hands and arms

  • Ability to see, talk, and hear
