Summary: Reporting to the Medical Director will provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing courteous efficient and accurate service. Assists with all aspects of patient care including diagnosis treatments and consultations. Mentors clinical personnel and serves as a liaison with patients staff providers and leadership. Can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Responsibilities: Provide general and preventative care conduct check-ups treat illnesses order lab tests and prescribe medications for children and adults. Educate patients about preventative care and the prescribed treatments. Manage patients who do not require complex medical management or specialized treatment. Demonstrates the ability to assess plan implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients. Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless of their age. Complete charting and required paperwork in a timely manner. Active participation in the development/review of office polices and procedures. Promotes a safety-conscious work force. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Other information: Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Graduation with a master*s degree from an accredited advanced nurse practitioner program. Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Current licensure as an ARNP in the State of Rhode Island. Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Knowledge of basic emergency department internal medicine generalist occupational medicine and family practice procedures required. Organizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain efficient workflow. Ability to adjust responsibilities to accommodate a fast-paced work environment while maintaining excellent customer service and staff interactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with patients and families clients coworkers clinical staff and physicians. Progressive thinking for budget training and quality issues. Strong leadership qualities. EXPERIENCE: Two years of related experience required. Prior experience as a medic or within an urgent care or emergency department setting preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Healthcare environment such as acute care hospital physicians* office and ancillary healthcare enterprises.
