Job Summary:



The Office of Medical Education has an opening for a 0.25 FTE salary supported position, with benefits, as an Anatomy Co-Content Director. The Co-Content Director at the University of Colorado School of Medicine plays a pivotal role in shaping medical education by developing and overseeing curricula that ensure students acquire the core knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become competent physicians. This role involves administering and enhancing educational programs, ensuring alignment with learning objectives, assessing student performance, and maintaining compliance with accreditation standards. The Co-Content Director collaborates with faculty, recruits and supports educators, and fosters continuous quality improvements through curriculum reviews and innovative teaching strategies.

Examples of Work Performed:



  • Participate in cadaver-based anatomy labs, open labs, and practical exams from September through May, and deliver anatomy lectures as part of the Plains Curriculum.
  • Oversee and maintain the cadaver lab to facilitate student learning and assessment.
  • Oversee content scheduling, assessment, organization, and execution.
  • Ensure high-quality, current content materials are accessible and align with educational objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty, serving as a resource.
  • Lead curriculum development and implementation across all phases of the program.
  • Ensure teaching faculty and students understand content competencies and learning goals.
  • Modify curricula based on needs, LCME requirements, and curriculum committee directives.
  • Contribute to maintaining a comprehensive curriculum map, including goals, objectives, and assessments.
  • Track and assess curriculum quality for continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate curriculum effectiveness in achieving learning outcomes with the Office of Assessment, Evaluation, and Outcomes.
  • Present curriculum reports to relevant committees and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with LCME standards and other reporting requirements.
  • Recruit and develop faculty to deliver educational content and coordinate faculty development needs.
  • Foster a professional learning environment for students and faculty.
  • Collaborate with other Content Directors to standardize curriculum elements and ensure compliance.
  • Attend and participate in curriculum committee meetings and retreats to

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on current rank (if internal faculty) or based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Instructor:



  • Candidates must be able to be obtain a faculty appointment (Instructor) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine
  • M.D., D.O., Ph.D. Degree or equivalent with a concentration in healthcare and education and medical licensure in the State of Colorado.


Sr. Instructor:



  • Candidates must be able to be obtain a faculty appointment (Sr. Instructor) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine
  • M.D., D.O., Ph.D. Degree or equivalent with a concentration in healthcare and education and medical licensure in the State of Colorado.


Assistant Professor:



  • Candidates must be able to be obtain a faculty appointment (Assistant Professor) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine
  • M.D., D.O., Ph.D. Degree or equivalent with a concentration in healthcare and education and medical licensure in the State of Colorado.


Associate Professor:



  • Candidates must be able to be obtain a faculty appointment (Associate Professor) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine
  • M.D., D.O., Ph.D. Degree or equivalent with a concentration in healthcare and education and medical licensure in the State of Colorado.


Professor:



  • Candidates must be able to be obtain a faculty appointment (Professor) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine
  • M.D., D.O., Ph.D. Degree or equivalent with a concentration in healthcare and education and medical licensure in the State of Colorado.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • One or more years of teaching experience to medical students.
  • Familiarity with cadaver-based instruction.
  • Working experience and knowledge of the medical education curriculum at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

* Instructor: 25,000 to $50,000 as 0.25 FTE salary support plus benefits. Up to the educational cap of $200,000

* Sr. Instructor: 25,000 to $50,000 as 0.25 FTE salary support plus benefits. Up to the educational cap of $200,000

* Assistant Professor: 25,000 to $50,000 as 0.25 FTE salary support plus benefits. Up to the educational cap of $200,000
