Your Opportunity: The Software QA Supervisor involves establishing QA processes and procedures. This work can include preparing documents that outline testing strategies, generating use cases to ensure that testing captures the software or system's functional requirements, and enacting test plans for new software products or updates to existing systems. They also introduce and update these processes in collaboration with their team and developers. This leader also manages the day-to-day activities of QA team members, including scheduling and managing ongoing projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and evolves formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
  • Assesses current testing needs and schedules and determines staffing needs to conduct the testing effectively.
  • Oversees team members' work to ensure that they adhere to specifications.
  • Plays an active role in software testing, following the processes and procedures they developed and testing new and updated bugs and other issues.
  • Evaluate individual aspects of the software or system, including user interfaces and functional requirements.
  • Maintains detailed documentation related to the software or system containing vital information about software performance and issues and used in future development work
  • Develops, enacts, and manages testing schedules, ensuring that the QA team meets expectations and deadlines, specifically with multiple projects are in process at once.
  • Coordinates bug fixes and software enhancements with development and engineering teams
  • Conducts further testing to ensure stability and usability
  • Conduct employee training and evaluation and may provide support during the hiring and onboarding process.

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in a related area
  • 6+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Design and document test plans and use cases for the frontend and backend of our software applications, web services, and integrations
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, and Operations teams to define test architecture and implement test plans
  • Diagnose and report issues based on test failures
  • Knowledge of Agile testing methodology, practices, and procedures
  • 4+ years prior software quality assurance experience conducting GUI, Database, API, and backend testing
  • Experience in testing in web-based applications, APIs, and integrations
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing
  • Familiarity with functional, integration, acceptance, smoke, and performance testing
  • Demonstrable ability to write data queries to validate data
  • Knowledge of CI/CD methods and Continuous Integration Tools: Bamboo, Azure, etc
  • Version control & issue tracking tools such as Azure Devops or Jira

Additional Skills:

  • COMMUNICATION: Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written communication form information to internal/external clients, staff and management.
  • TECHNICAL: Translate system requirements into tests from internal personnel to external customer and product specs. Learn internal software applications as required by account. Learn, comprehend and utilize web and data development concepts to coordinate the development of technical solutions.
  • DECISION MAKING: Ability to collect the necessary information and listen to others to make decisions regarding project(s) and processes. Coaches team in their decision-making.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: Work with various personalities and skillsets across business units and/or departments. Ability to directly interact with clients to clarify requirements, demonstrate solutions and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • PRIORITIZATION: Handle frequent interruptions yet refocus on the task at hand or determine the most critical tasks. Adapt to fast-paced, high stress and changing environments. Help team prioritize and help clarify priorities.
  • ORGANIZATION: Ensures information can be found easily and tasks are completed on time. Pay attention to details. Maintain accuracy and quality. Keeps and drive team to update artifacts, tickets, and tasks.
  • PROBLEM SOLVING: Take responsibility to find alternative approaches to solve or troubleshoot issues; Exhaust available resources to find solutions.
