Job Overview

Facilitate implementation of behavior plans created by licensed psychiatric professional for inpatient and day treatment patients. Coordinate with unit leadership to recommend appropriate staff to patient assignments to maintain a safe environment and provide feedback regarding staff intervention efforts in the milieu setting. Facilitate/model for Behavior Specialists. Assist ancillary staff, caregivers, providers in understanding how to implement general behavioral or coping strategies as well as those listed on patients' behavior management plan. Collaborate with members of the unit treatment team. Coordinator would assist with organizing and maintaining data collection, data analysis, provide direct supervision of Behavior Specialist and Behavior Specialist Sr, treatment-plan development, and research activities. This position may encounter potentially volatile care situations that could result in bodily harm.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education Required; Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or another related field preferred
  • Experience: Four (4) years of pediatric psych/behavioral specialty in a therapeutic setting. No professional level experience for master's degree
  • Certification(s): Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

Neonate - <30 days

Infancy - >30 days to 1yr

Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs

Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs

School age - >5yrs to 13yrs

Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs

Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  1. Assist in the development of individual treatment plans, including defining target behaviors, treatment goals and data collection systems.
  2. Assist in the development of behavior intervention programs to establish alternative pro-social behaviors.
  3. Collaborate with clinical team members to discuss intervention strategies and problem behaviors.
  4. Attend clinical rounding and meetings.
  5. Facilitate family, school, caregiver interactions as necessary.
  6. Attend family, caregiver, multifamily groups, and school meetings as necessary.
  7. Coach staff on how to effectively manage problem behavior and implement behavior treatment plans.
  8. Ensure treatment fidelity across all staff members working on any unit.
  9. Assist in completing functional behavior assessments as necessary (as deemed by the unit's Psychologists)
  10. Write up of assessment results and observation notes as necessary.
  11. Create and deliver trainings for: staff development and preceptor trainings.
  12. Ensure groups are scheduled, planned, and facilitated daily throughout the milieu.
  13. Help coordinate patient assignments.
  14. Participate in program development committees as deemed appropriate by unit manager.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $59,514.35 to $89,271.53
Hourly Salary Range: $28.61 to $42.92
